Psuedo Journaling

Also known as using someone else's words when they can say what you mean so much nicer than you can yourself....

English and literature were my favorite subjects in school. I've continued to enjoy the act of "writing" and I certainly own enough dictionaries (in a few different languages) and thesauruses (or should that be thesauri?) to aid me in my writing, but there are still times and layouts when the words just don't come out as beautifully or as meaningfully as the page you're putting together... So that's when I turn to quotes or songs or poetry to do it for me.

Sometimes reading something deep and profound or even just mildly entertaining, will be the thing that inspires a layout or jogs a memory.

In my myriad e-files and folders I've had this quote/lyric/poem collecting dust, waiting for just the right layout and occasion. This month's challenge to turn our focus to the one who is the wind beneath our wings, was it.

He's the cheese to my macaroni,
the horizon to my sky,
Laces to my sneakers,
Bacon to my eggs,
Smile to my face,
Jelly to my peanut butter,
Gravy to my potatoes,
and the bubbles to my bath.
He's the milk to my cookie,
the ink to my pen,
the ketchup on my fries,
He's my everything.
He's the light on in the windows
welcoming me home.

See how it says everything I feel but so much more lyrically?? To make it a little more "authentic" I altered some phrases and then added my own last three lines. Because you can do that. The quote police don't know where you live.

I own the first three volumes of the Autumn Leaves "Quote Unquote" series and refer to them often. As well, I like to click on these links for title or journaling ideas.

I hope this gives you some ideas to jumpstart the word flow that will express your feelings and perfectly compliment your papers and embellishments!
