A family, whole and complete.
That's a tough thing to attain in this day and age.
Relationships are fragile things and feelings are everywhere! While your raise your family and everyone is young, it's easy enough to be your own loyal family unit, but inevitably kids grow up and away and create their own family units and sometimes loyalties are divided. As much as a parent might want things to stay the way they always were, that isn't realistic. But that doesn't mean that what the family unit becomes can't also be as wonderful as what used to be. As the family grows and evolves and new personalities are added, it takes work and care to keep the family ties strong. But it's do-able. I hope I'll always be the kind of mom-MIL who supports, nurtures and encourages family harmony with love and open arms and without criticism so that we can always be tight-knit, loving family.
I did this layout with a photo from about 15 years ago. Those were sweet years! But these years are just as sweet and the second photo is of our family last summer, missing a girlfriend. We are evolving and changing and it's all good!
